Job overview

Would you like to work in Children's Services providing high quality, efficient and effective administrative support to the nursing and medical teams caring for children and young people presenting to the Emergency Department?
We are looking to appoint a Children's Service Administrator to support the department by providing a range of administrative duties. You will be supported by a newly appointed Children's ED Co-ordinator and will have the opportunity to develop in other areas as well as undertaking additional qualifications relevant to the role through the Apprenticeship Tarriff - e.g Level 3,4 or 5 Business Administration

Main duties of the job

  • This role will include scanning, photocopying, receiving telephones calls, managing generic mailboxes and reviewing information in relation to Children's Safeguarding.
  • Preparing agenda's and documents for the safeguarding meetings.
  • You will also ensure children and families are welcomed to the department, provide wait times.
  • Monitor breech data
  • Supporting the Matron, Senior Sister and Practice Educator
  • Ensure the environment is safe, clean and child friendly.

Essential criteria
  • • GCSE or Function Skills Level 2 in English and Maths • A Levels or Level 3 qualification
Desirable criteria
  • • Business Administration qualification • Level 2 Children’s Safeguarding
Experience
Essential criteria
  • • Experience required in a similar administrative role within an NHS setting • Experience of maintaining databases, preparing agendas and taking notes at meetings
Desirable criteria
  • • Previous experience of working in an Emergency Department • Experience of working with senior level staff and in managing confidential issues • Experience of working in Children’s Services • Experience of electronic patient systems • Experience in Children’s Safeguarding matters
