Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and bricklaying, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This role involves constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, stone, and other materials. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency with both hand tools and power tools, ensuring high-quality workmanship in all projects.
Responsibilities

• Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to specifications and blueprints.
• Mix mortar and other materials to create strong bonds for bricklaying.
• Measure and cut materials accurately to ensure proper fit and alignment.
• Construct walls, arches, and other structures using various masonry techniques.
• Repair existing brickwork by replacing damaged bricks or repointing joints.
• Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople on construction projects.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.
• Operate power tools safely and effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing materials.
• Assist in the installation of roofing systems as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry is essential.

• Proficiency with hand tools (trowels, chisels) and power tools (saws, drills).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labour for extended periods.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction sites.
• Experience in carpentry is a nice-to-have skill but not essential.
• Welding skills are advantageous for specific projects involving metalwork.
