We are looking for an experienced Clerk of Works to join our team on an exciting infrastructure construction project. Splitting your time between Ukraine and London, and reporting into the Programme Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that all construction work is carried out to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will be providing assurance on appropriate resource allocation and ensuring delivery in line with design specifications. This role involves close coordination with contractors, site managers, architects, and project managers to oversee the delivery of a high-quality build. Ex-military personnel, such as former Clerks of Works from the Royal Engineers, are encouraged to apply, as their diverse expertise may align well with the project’s requirements. Requirements Responsibilities/ deliverables: Additional tasks may emerge but primary responsibilities will include:
Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory regulations, laws, and health & safety standards. Prior experience with Ukraininan as well as British regulations is desirable.
Monitor workmanship to minimise defects and rework, ensuring materials are fit for purpose and meet project specifications.
Track project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations, ensuring the project adheres to time, cost, and quality standards.
Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to monitor construction progress, resolve issues, and ensure quality standards are met.
Identify risks, oversee safety protocols, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Provide advice on safety briefings and procedures when required.
In coordination with the Programme Lead, witness key materials testing and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with the test and inspection plan.
Contribute to progress reports and provide detailed reports on quality, safety, and compliance.
You: You will have previous experience and qualifications in the following areas:
Experience with construction projects in challenging environments
NEBOSH and site safety qualifications
CMI/NVQ Level 7 Strategic Management and Leadership qualifications
Awareness of CDM 2015 regulations
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
Specialist safety courses or qualifications (e.g., scaffolding, asbestos, confined spaces, first aid, harness and lanyard inspector, accident investigator)
BPSS security clearance
