- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years thermal experience in design and validation of systems
- Experience with So C and system thermal measurement
- Experience with thermal and power data analysis
- Experience with development and/or selection of thermal control hardware (e.g., materials, TIM, heatsink, fan, temperature sensors)
- Proficiency in thermal simulation tools such as Flo Therm, Flo Therm XT, and Flo EFD
- Familiar with thermal validation equipment (e.g. thermal chamber, data logger, thermocouple, IR, anemometer)
- Knowledge of heat conduction, heat convention and radiation.
- Knowledge of So C power and thermal characteristics
- Basic Knowledge of firmware operation.
Ring is looking for a Hardware Development Engineer who will be a part of our global electrical engineering team, playing a critical role in ensuring the highest product quality standards and driving continuous improvement for the products. Development of full devices requires in system level design for So C platform, Memory, Sensors, Power Architecture, and related peripheral function while integrating with technologies like radar, cameras, audio, Wi Fi, 4G LTE, Blue Tooth, etc.
You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within a fast-paced environment. You are expected to represent as a hardware design and validation owner and dive deep into the difficult problem for the root cause analysis and arrange appropriated solution for it.
Key job responsibilities
- Perform thermal compliance verification of systems and components
- Collaborate with design and production teams to develop detailed thermal validation plans against product requirements
- Analyze and interpret thermal/power data from validation tests to offer insights and recommendations
- Design fixtures for thermal validation, thermal data collection and power measurement
- Work cross-functionally to troubleshoot thermal issues identified during validation
- Document thermal validation and troubleshooting processes, and provide high-quality thermal reports
- Verify thermal performance for second source qualification, cost down design, manufacturing efficiency
- Develop and contribute in testing automation
- Calibrate, management and maintain thermal testing equipment.

- Experience with the design and development of high-volume consumer Io T products
- Expertise in thermal design and validation for battery-powered devices
- Strong background in mechanical design and its integration with thermal management
- Experience with CAD (PTC Creo or Solid Works) to design test fixtures and create drawings for manufacturing
- Experience in developing automated functional testing strategies to ensure product quality
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment.
