What We Offer
The purpose of the Business Development Manager is to identify and develop business growth opportunities in new or existing market segments in order to drive sustainable growth, increase market penetration, bolster profitability, and maximize value creation to meet or exceed TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethane) short and long-term business objectives.
Major Tasks & responsibilities:

Leveraging industrial marketing tools to gain insights into industry dynamics and customer requirements, translating those into the need of Covestro TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethane) solution.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Innovation, Sales, Purchasing, and Product Management in product solution development, including formulation of requirements, exploration of technical options, and the creation and execution of comprehensive action plans.

Developing marketing plans and defining the marketing mix for BD projects, in close coordination with country organizations, ensuring alignment with country and segment strategies.

Establishing guide prices for BD projects, in various value chain level such as OEMs and direct customers, ensuring pricing on value.

Spearheading end-to-end project management for new project, from opportunity identification to market launch.

Serving as the regional TPU point of contact for country sales organizations, providing expertise in evaluating and pursuing business opportunities.

Building and nurturing external relationships with key players in the TPU value chain, such as OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), ODMs (Original Design Manufacturers), and molders, to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities. Additionally, fostering strategic partnerships in areas like coloring, specialty compounding, and power-grinding.

Acting as the regional TPU point of contact for other Covestro BEs (Business Entity), facilitating cross-BU market collaboration, information exchange, and synergies.
Value Added:
Develop business growth opportunities in new or existing market segments in order to optimise growth, market share, profitability and value creation to meet or exceed TPU short and long-term business objectives.
Work Relations:
Internal: Head TPU APAC, TPU regional business team, R& D, Sales Force, Business Development EMEA/NAFTA, Industrial Marketing, SCC and Other BU’s key account or segment managers.
External: Direct customers, Value chain partners (like Design house, OEM, ODM and Molder), Testing laboratory, Members of trade and industry associations, Consultants, Business partners (in area like coloring, specialty compounding, power-grinding)
What You Offer
Qualifications:
1. Minimum 5 years marketing or sales experience in a managerial position
2. Minimum 5 years of solid technical experience dealing with polymer products, preferably engineering plastics
3. University degree in Chemistry or Engineering preferred
4. In-depth knowledge of different polymer processing
5. Technical understanding of TPU applications is an advantage
6. Excellent leadership/influencing/presentation/negotiation skills
7. Strong conceptual/strategic thinking
8. High level of energy and entrepreneurship
