Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated Intern (100%) for the Progenitor Cell Biology and Mechanoregulation Focus Area, Regenerative Orthopaedics program in Davos/Switzerland to join our team for 6 months, as of October 2024.
The successful applicant will be working within a multidisciplinary team in a project aiming to study the influence of different stimuli (e.g., glucocorticoids, mechanics, mi RNA) on bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cell (BMSC) differentiation.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct in vitro experiments with primary human BMSCs, endothelial cells and/or macrophages, including transfection with mi RNA mimics/antagonists
- Utilize bioreactors to apply mechanical load

Establish and utilize cellular and molecular methods for musculoskeletal tissue.
Job Requirements
- A Masters in cell or molecular biology, biomedical engineering, or related fields.
- Previous experience in cell culture and laboratory techniques (in particular, RNA isolation and gene expression analysis)
- Experience in planning and executing research experiments.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and oral).
- Ability to solve complex tasks in a highly independent manner along with a willing-to-help attitude.
- Present good adaptation and integration skills in a cross-cultural/interdisciplinary environment.
- High motivation and passion for research.
