In this pivotal role, you will ensure that our R&D project portfolio is aligned with the broader strategic goals of the company, shaping the future of Outokumpu by step-change innovations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & Execute Portfolio Management Processes: Design, implement, and continuously improve the methods and tools that ensure our R&D portfolio supports Outokumpu’s strategic objectives.
- Global Portfolio Oversight: Maintain a comprehensive view of our global R&D portfolio, tracking project performance and ensuring timely and successful delivery.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a process consultant, working closely with R&D managers and cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment and efficiency.
- Performance Monitoring & Facilitation: Oversee the performance of R&D projects, manage funding schemes, and facilitate project applications while safeguarding the integrity of the R&D process.
- Manage Strategic Initiatives: Lead selected R&D strategy streams, ensuring they align with and support the overarching goals of the organization.
- Training & Support: Provide training and support to R&D personnel, enhancing their ability to lead projects effectively.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you should have a genuine passion for Research & Development, paired with an innovative mindset and the ability to align projects with broader company goals. You are characterized of viewing complex situations holistically, understanding how different elements interact within the larger organizational context. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential for driving impactful results and fostering positive change.
- M.Sc./Ph.D. in engineering or a relevant technical field.
- Genuine interest in R&D with a strong focus on innovation.
- High level of strategic and conceptual thinking.
- Proven project management background.
- Demonstrated experience as a change agent with a track record in process improvement.
- Working proficiency in English is required.
