Group Head of Tax, STENA AB
Our current Group Head of Tax and Legal Structure, will transit to a new strategic role as Senior Advisor in Legal Structure by the end of 2024.
We are now looking for his successor. This role is both challenging and rewarding, where your expertise will shape our tax practices and support our Group’s development. You will be the link between our diverse business units and complex tax regulations, covering the broad perspective of all tax areas and matters.
You will oversee compliance and strategy, provide guidance, and be a sounding board for our businesses. This role is crucial for the Group’s future growth and compliance.
You will join a skilled team of tax professionals at our Göteborg head office, leveraging collective knowledge from across our diverse businesses and hubs.
The position is based in Göteborg and reports to the Deputy CEO of Stena AB Group.
The Role
The tax landscape and the Stena AB Group, with its diversified businesses across several countries, is complex. As Group Head of Tax, it’s key that you understand the nuances of tax and its relevance to our different businesses. This role involves hands-on work as you will be actively engaged in the day-to-day tax operations, ensuring compliance, developing strategies, and implementing processes to adapt to new international regulations effectively. You will be responsible for all types of taxes, not just corporation tax, and will explain complex tax matters clearly and confidently in business discussions.

About You
You should have 10 + years of relevant experience in the tax field, an understanding of tax accounting and reporting basics, and the ability to lead a team of specialized experts. Experience in a commercial company and understanding of tax matters within an operational business is preferred.
To be successful in this role, you need to be structured, analytical, and thorough, yet pragmatic and solution-oriented. You have strong business acumen and leadership qualities. Team spirits and a “can-do” mindset are essential. You are inherently curious, open to new perspectives and approaches to established challenges.
