About Navigraph

Navigraph is a Saa S (Software-as-a-Service) company serving the international flight simulator community with charts, navigation data, flight planning services, and training material. Thousands of subscribers worldwide use Navigraph services in desktop and console flight simulators such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, and Prepar3D. Navigraph users fly for entertainment, curiosity, and possibly with the dream of one day becoming a pilot. Many active pilots also use Navigraph services because of their love for aviation.
Navigraph was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Stockholm. The team consists of 35 individuals with varying backgrounds in software development, aviation, marketing, and content creation. About two-thirds live near the Stockholm office, whereas the rest are based in countries such as the US, Canada, Austria, Australia, New Zealand, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic. The office language is English. Because of the rapid technical development of flight simulators and growing interest in aviation Navigraph has experienced a formidable growth over the past few years. Navigraph is still run and managed by its founders Magnus Axholt (CEO) and Stephen O’Connell (CTO). Tasks and Responsibilities

As a Frontend Developer at Navigraph you will join the Web Development team responsible for developing and maintaining our main website and its associated user account pages, the developer website, and a Learning Management System used by an upcoming project called Navigraph Academy. The websites should be easy to use, informational, and promotional. The websites are based on Angular and React JS and serve content provided from our different backend systems.
Typical tasks include implementing responsive design specified by our Digital Designer using Figma. We also work with performance considerations relating to single-page applications and best practices for content and site structure for SEO. We implement various tracking technologies and A/B tests and keep the websites compliant with current legislation.
The Web Development team works closely with the Marketing Team, and we also have an in-house Content Team that produces images and copy for the website.
We work according to agile development principles with daily standup meetings, a Kanban board, backlog grooming, and regular retros. There is a clear priority on which tasks and projects to be completed within the year.
As a Frontend Developer at Navigraph, you will be performing the following tasks:

  Implement Design: Turn Figma design sketches into code.
  
• Optimize Website: Reduce loading times and improve website performance.
  
• Test User Experience: Ensure the website is responsive and mobile-friendly.
  
• Use SEO Best Practices: Work with semantic HTML elements; use headers appropriately; enable compression where possible; work with lazy loading; optimize meta tags; review navigation structures; and manage redirects, etc.
  
• Support Marketing: Collect user events for various third-party advertising platforms to improve user experience and assist in A/B testing.
  
• Ensure Compliance: Ensure the website user is informed and has agreed to the privacy policy and that the website behaves accordingly.
  

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 
  Fluent in written and spoken English
  
• At least three years of experience in a similar position
  
• Good knowledge of Javascript, Typescript, and JS frameworks such as Angular or React
  
• Good knowledge of HTML and CSS
  
• Experience working with agile methodologies and a solid understanding of software engineering practices
