Postdoctoral researcher for PCM-based development of thermal management solutions

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Phase Transitions and Critical Behaviors Group at CIC energi GUNE is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join our Thermal Energy Storage and Conversion research area. This position is part of an industry-collaborative project aimed at developing innovative thermal management solutions for photovoltaic panels.
Main Responsibilities:

Develop and characterize phase change materials (PCMs) primarily based on hydrated salts.
Modify PCMs as necessary to enhance thermal properties and stability.
Conduct thorough characterization of thermal and structural properties using DSC, TGA, XRD, SEM, FTIR, Laser Flash, and other relevant techniques.
Fabricate modular solutions containing PCMs on a lab-scale.
Design and build small-scale test benches to evaluate the performance of developed PCM solutions.
Integrate designed products into real applications and test under relevant conditions.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Ph D Degree in Materials Science, Applied Physics, Thermal engineering or related fields.
Solid background in phase change materials, preferably inorganics, as well as physical-chemical and structural characterizations.
Hands-on experience in lab-scale prototyping.
Demonstrated self-motivation and autonomy.
A committed team player.
