The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in project planning, specifically within wind or renewable energy projects, and demonstrate proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.

Responsibilities

As the Wind Project Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and monitoring of wind energy projects in South Africa. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Project Planning: Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgetary constraints, and resource availability.

Resource Allocation: Assess and allocate resources effectively to ensure the timely completion of project milestones while minimizing risks.

Progress Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor project progress, implementing corrective actions as necessary to keep the project on track.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to ensure project goals are achieved and that all parties are aligned on project objectives.

Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting project status, potential challenges, and proposed solutions.

Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies to minimize impact and ensure successful project delivery.

Compliance: Ensure all project planning activities comply with relevant local regulations, international standards, and internal policies.

Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvement initiatives, implementing best practices in project planning and execution.

Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Planner, preferably within the wind energy sector or renewable energy projects.
Proficiency in project management software, specifically Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Familiarity with local regulations and standards related to renewable energy projects in South Africa is advantageous.
A degree in Project Management, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field is preferred.
