Overseeing the health and well-being of all the sanctuaries animals, mainly big cats
Being part of all veterinary related tasks, including procedures, medical check ups, diagnostics
Upkeeping of medical records
Observational assessments of all animals and adjustments to their medication and care, depending on the individual’s needs, including husbandry aspects such as nutritional and environmental needs
Contributing to general husbandry as part of the animal management team
Contributing to preventative medicine protocols in a captive welfare setting
Participating in and supporting the safe transfer of animals to the sanctuary
Assisting in managing free roaming game
Your profile ideally illustrates
Ideally several years of experience in small or mixed animal practice, preferably including a welfare and/or wildlife settings
Fully qualified veterinarian, must be registered with the South African Veterinary council or eligible to do so
For South Africa, due to Employment Equity Laws, applications from South African citizens only, are required
Highly motivated animal welfare mindset
Fluent in English
Good Microsoft office and record keeping knowledge
Willingness to relocate to Bethlehem, Free State
Willingness to work extended hours and weekends and being on standby
Drivers license
