Relief Travel Specialist - Leading Travel Company - Johannesburg
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Relief Travel Specialist to join a leading luxury travel company. This role is vital for maintaining high standards of guest experience and operational efficiency while demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability and community care. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee teammates' desks during absences (sick leave, annual leave, or educational leave), managing requotes and ongoing proposals.
Assist with brochure quotes and develop agent educational bookings/hosted educational bookings, ensuring seamless trips in collaboration with Sales.
Implement and test new systems and procedures.
Chase provisional bookings and follow up on dead leads during quieter periods.
Assist in loading bookings for consultants during peak periods.
Plan and design creative itineraries.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with agents, sales teams, preferred supplier partners, and colleagues.
Participate in rotational emergency duty as per the Retail Emergency BOP.
Work early and late shifts on a weekly rotational basis.
Provide calm and professional service to agents and guests.
Uphold the company's values of caring for people, land, and wildlife.
Knowledge Required:
Passion for delivering service excellence.
In-depth knowledge of Tourplan and Microsoft systems is advantageous.
Familiarity with South Africa, Southern, and East Africa is preferable.
Willingness to assist and learn continuously.
Skills Required:
Strong understanding of terms and conditions, product knowledge, and the company's destinations.
Knowledge of travel industry channels and markets.
Ability to formulate strategies and make commercial decisions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and teamwork.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and Tourplan is advantageous.
Experience with WETU is a plus.

Previous Work Experience Required:
