A vacant position for maintenance supervisor needs to be filled in the maintenance department. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that maximum uptime of equipment and machinery is maintained at all times. The duties and responsibilities are as follows: 1.1 Ensure maximum equipment and machinery uptime § Assist to implement and maintain a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, in compliance with legal requirements § Schedule both internal and external work(s) minimising planned down time and reducing unplanned downtime and assigning tasks to maintenance technicians § Appoint outsourced contractors on jobs that cannot be done internally § Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance 1.2 Fleet management § Ensure that the fleet is maintained and serviced to avoid accidents and breakdowns § Ensure that all vehicles are adequately licenced § Ensure that drivers are adequately licenced 1.3 Legal compliance § Assist to ensure the compliance of the factory and its facilities with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant regulations 1.4 Equipment maintenance § Assist to manage the process of the introduction and successful implementation of new machinery where required § Ensure that obsolete machinery, tools and equipment is disposed of as prescribed in terms of company policy and procedure and in compliance with relevant legislation § Ensure that all material and resources are available for the maintenance team to carry out their duties § Ordering of spares for the plant and employee’s safety equipment 1.5 Supervise the maintenance team § Supervise the maintenance team and ensure that all the tasks are completed timeously § Ensure that subordinates receive adequate training to ensure competence and legal compliance § Supervise employees to ensure no waste in production hours § Ensure compliance with all HR and other company policies and procedures § Follow correct procedures with regard to all disciplinary incidents § Manage and review employees’ performance § Ensure that the team is kept motivated Requirements · A proven work experience of 5years in the FMCG industry · Maintenance experience in the dairy industry will be an added advantage · Successful completion of an apprenticeship is required · Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, pumps · Experience using hand and electrical tools · Incumbent should be able to read technical manuals and drawings · Very good communication and interpersonal skills · Physical stamina and dexterity · Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical engineering / or equivalent Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Education:
