Maintenance Manager/Technician
There is an opportunity available for an experienced Maintenance Manager at KIMMO (PTY) Ltd, a Packaging company in City Deep, Johannesburg. We are looking for a hands-on all-round person, passionate about all technical aspects of the production facility.
Purpose of the position:- Is to improve the overall reliability and availability of our production equipment, without any compromise in safety. You will be appointed as a competent person under statutory regulations.
The job content will consist of:-
Preventative mechanical and electrical maintenance work
Fault finding and repairs to both mechanical and electrical equipment
Upgrading and modifying existing equipment
Technical support to production personnel in order to improve the overall quality of our products
Qualifications needed: -
This position would currently be best suited to an experienced and Qualified Technician, with a strong practical hands-on capability. Applicants will only be considered if they have a technical qualification in this field and a unique skill set that match our factory’s needs.
Skills required: -
Ability to work independently in a well-organized fashion with attention to detail.
Superior fault-finding skills on mechanical and electrical equipment.
Knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLC’s, & Mechanical equipment and basic electrical distribution.
Ability to read, analyse, and interpret technical documents.
Ability to operate lathes, milling machines, grinders and welding machines to fabricate small parts if required.
Good Written & verbal Communication Skills in English.
Knowledge of safety requirements and ISO Quality Control Systems.
Experience Requirements: -
4 – 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in the Paper or Packaging industry would be a huge advantage.
This is not just an office job and will require hands-on tool work on the shop floor.
You must be prepared to work additional hours and over weekends if required.
We offer a Market related salary (cost to company) depending on qualification, experience and calibre of the candidate.
