Are you passionate about wildlife and travel? Kendrick Recruitment is thrilled to present an incredible opportunity for a Junior Safari Consultant. This remote-based role, ideally situated in Hoedspruit, offers a unique chance to join a dynamic team in the heart of the safari industry.
Location: Remote (Hoedspruit-based preferred, but not essential)
Salary: R24,000 gross per month (Before PAYE)
Benefits: Sales bonus (pro rata), normal employment contract, 12-month rolling contract
Job Overview As a Junior Safari Consultant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the sales operations. Reporting to the Senior Safari Consultant, you will focus on selling safaris and ensuring seamless front-end sales processes. Your responsibilities will include reservations systems management, business development, customer service, itinerary planning, and general business support. Key Responsibilities
SOP’s and Reservations Systems Management:
Develop a deep understanding of all systems used by the Safari Consultant team.
Handle reservations, amendments, and troubleshooting as needed.
Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for bookings.
Business Development:
Execute outstanding safari itineraries, maintaining high company values.
Develop and nurture relationships with lodges, suppliers, and guests.
Close all trip files promptly and efficiently.
Systems:
Contribute actively to the entire reservations system and process.
Maintain up-to-date client information in reservations spreadsheets.
Customer Service:
Ensure high customer satisfaction by resolving issues and following up on complaints.
Provide timely responses to customer inquiries via email and Whats App.
Planning Itineraries:
Create detailed itineraries and proposals using preferred software.
Coordinate logistics including accommodation, flights, transfers, and activities.
General Business Support:
Offer administrative support to the company and General Manager.
Assist with logistics and general business administration tasks.
Skills & Experience
Minimum of 2 years working in the hospitality/travel industry; consulting experience preferred.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills, both with clients and within teams.
Proficient in MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, and online agent portals.
Strategic thinker with a practical approach and a strong sense of personalization.
Passionate about sustainability and customer satisfaction.
Additional Requirements
Able to work long hours, unsupervised, and under pressure.
Fluent in English with professional email writing skills.
Must have a growth mindset and the ability to motivate others.
Valid driver’s license and ability to be available 24/7 during phone duty rotations.
Police clearance certificates and full background check required.
