WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Instrument Technician is responsible to perform instrumentation activities, software programming, wiring of panels and instruments and maintenance.

Design PLC programme’s using Siemens PLC for plant automation.
Program and configure Siemens HMIs and Scada.
Execute design reviews of instrumentation drawings.
Programming of software to integrate all electrical and pneumatic equipment to operate the facility within the required safety and process conditions
Build and wire control panels, junction boxes and connect instruments according to manufacturing data packs.
Scada systems to monitor, control and analyse plants during production.
Plan and conduct tests and evaluations to verify the program and system performance.
Investigate failures and ensure corrective action is taken.
Configure communication between hardware and software using profibus, profinet and ethernet networks.
Oversee the installation and assist with plant commissioning.
Provide training/support for products/systems/equipment.
Assist with instrumentation design and review activities.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Electrical Trade Test would be advantageous.
Tech in Electrical engineering would be advantages.
At least 3 years minimum of PLC programming in a manufacturing environment.
Siemens S7 Programming (TIA Portal: Step 7 and Win CC) experience
Scada and HMI knowledge and experience
Excellent problem-solving skills.
An in-depth understanding and working knowledge of control and instrumentation activities and drawings.
Experience in the implementation of instrumentation projects and software programming
Good communication, planning and organising skills.
Interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with multiple internal and external disciplines.
Highly organised and self-motivated.
