Handyman
We are looking for a Handyman that is motivated and can take initiative to upkeep and repair tasks at our buildings. The successful individual must be able to keep our buildings in perfect condition by doing various electrical and plumbing jobs and maintaining it.The perfect candidate would be someone that has previously worked as a handy man in a student accommodation.
Qualifications / Requirements:

Grade 10- 12 (Matric) advantage
Must have proven experience as Handyman
Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing
Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
Minimum code B driver’s license (Code EB preferred)

Preference will be given to candidates that meet the below requirements:

Basic Electrical and Plumbing certification
Good communication skills
Must have problem-solving skills
Must be able to take initiative and work independently
Pay attention to detail and ability to identify potential problems

Key Performance Areas:

Perform general handy man duties and maintenance and repairs within the buildings.
Setup installations, troubleshooting, maintaining, lights and plugs at the different buildings when required.
Apply paint, stain, and coatings to walls or ceilings and repair gaps, pop up’s or cracks on the walls.

· Do tilling work and is responsible for cutting and installing tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces.

Look after and take responsibility for all the tools and equipment in storerooms.
Ability to change doors, locks and handles.
Change and repairs windows and light bulps.
Ability to perform general electrician duties when needed.
Fixing kettle’s, stoves, microwave’s, washing machines and dryers etc
Repairs of cabinet hinges and general wood work and install building frameworks, wooden floors, and doorframes.
Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks when instructed.
Take initiative by identifying issues that needs attention and repairs.
Assist contractors while onsite with major electrical, plumbing and tiling work.
Perform general handy man work and any other duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager.

Salary: R6000-R8000 (based on experience)
