General Manager – Kuzuko Lodge
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead the operations of a prestigious 5-star safari lodge. Nestled in one of the world’s most breathtaking wilderness locations, this role offers a unique opportunity for a hospitality professional to deliver world-class service in an unparalleled natural setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all lodge operations, ensuring excellence in guest service, hospitality, and luxury standards.
- Organise and deliver superb nature focussed guest experiences
- Manage and mentor a team of passionate staff.
- Maintain the lodge's high-end reputation through meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of the guest experience.
- Work closely with the CEO to develop and implement strategies to optimize profitability, occupancy rates, and guest satisfaction.
- Liaise with local communities, suppliers, and conservation partners to ensure sustainable and responsible practices.
- Oversee all maintenance, ensuring facilities remain at top-level condition.
- Financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Work closely with the CEO to drive marketing efforts, focusing on increasing bookings and enhancing the lodge's global brand.
- At least five years proven experience in managing luxury hospitality lodge of at least 24 rooms, preferably in a safari or remote lodge setting.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Deep understanding of guest services and delivering memorable guest experiences.
- Familiarity with eco-tourism and sustainability practices.
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and managing P&L accounts.
- Ability to thrive in a remote, dynamic environment, with a passion for wildlife and nature.
- Excellent logistical and organisational skills backed by strong decision making.
- Excellent understanding of lodge and vehicle maintenance issues with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
- Experience mentoring and training team members.
- Excellent understanding of HR law and best practices.
- Salary range of 50-60k dependent on experience.
