Kendrick Recruitment is Currently Seeking a General Manager for a stunning 4-star safari lodge in the Greater Pilanesberg. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to oversee a 23-room lodge and create unforgettable experiences for guests while managing a dedicated team. Job Purpose:
Lead the lodge's operations, ensuring exceptional service, financial success, and a positive work environment. Be the visible face of the lodge, engaging with guests and staff alike.
Requirements:
A related hospitality qualification.
At least 6 years of general management experience in a recognized 4-star hotel or game lodge.
Exceptional knowledge of food and beverage service.
Strong financial management skills.
Fluent in English; a second European language is an advantage.
Awareness of international trends in the hospitality and food industries.
Energetic, hardworking, and capable of managing a large local workforce.
Experience leading morning meetings and daily HOD briefings.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to evaluate guest feedback and manage HR issues.
Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word.
Ability to plan, prioritize, and perform well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise HOD roles and ensure smooth information flow.
Interact with guests and employees to foster a welcoming environment.
Complete daily operational updates, revenue reports, and monthly operational reports for directors.
Participate in budgeting processes and conduct performance appraisals.
Manage accommodation and meals for staff while overseeing all aspects of lodge operations.
