Job Desciption

Novus Print: Montague Gardens is seeking to permanently appoint a competent individual within the Finishing department as a General Assistant. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Quality Supervisor.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Wrap label and palletize finished slit rolls from all Rewinder lines
• Scanning core tags and labels
• Operate pallet jack, forklift, bander and tilt lock
• Load pallets with film and put them on the pallet lift
• Log all problems and faults with the Supervisor
• Adhere to all health and safety requirements
• Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained
• Ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Supervisor

Educational Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent

Experience Requirements

• 1-2 years’ experience in a packaging environment advantageous
• 1-2 years’ experience as a Slitter or Rewinder Assistant

Skills and Competencies

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have technical aptitude and interest in the Printing Industry
• Show initiative to improve the work environment
• Safety consciousness
• Flexibility to work shifts and long hours
• Be physically fit for the working environment
• Computer literacy on this level would be an advantage
• Excellent time and attendance
