Job Desciption
Novus Print: Montague Gardens is seeking to permanently appoint a competent individual within the Finishing department as a General Assistant. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Quality Supervisor.Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Wrap label and palletize finished slit rolls from all Rewinder lines
- Scanning core tags and labels
- Operate pallet jack, forklift, bander and tilt lock
- Load pallets with film and put them on the pallet lift
- Log all problems and faults with the Supervisor
- Adhere to all health and safety requirements
- Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained
- Ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Supervisor
Educational Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
Experience Requirements
- 1-2 years’ experience in a packaging environment advantageous
- 1-2 years’ experience as a Slitter or Rewinder Assistant
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have technical aptitude and interest in the Printing Industry
- Show initiative to improve the work environment
- Safety consciousness
- Flexibility to work shifts and long hours
- Be physically fit for the working environment
- Computer literacy on this level would be an advantage
- Excellent time and attendance
