FOUNDATION PHASE GRADE R
PERMANENT POSITION WITH GOVERNING BODY OF HAPPY VALLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL
Happy Valley Primary School is a no-fee public primary school serving the Happy Valley / Silversands Community near Kuils River. The school has partnered with Mellon Educate as part of the Collaboration Schools Pilot Programme - a public / private partnership programme in the Western Cape.
Requirements:

An appropriate qualification in Education: Bed: Foundation Phase or studying towards a degree
Teaching experience in Grade R an advantage
Registration with SACE and SARS
Proficient in teaching English Home Language (written and spoken)
Experience in planning and compiling assessments according to CAPS/ATP’s
Be familiar with WCED Recording and Reporting Programme
High level of computer literacy
List all extra-mural activities offered

Trained in:
· ELIT (Early Literacy Intervention Programme)
· CAPS (Curriculum Assessment Policy Statements)
· Mathematics training
· Equal Thinking Workshop training
Responsibilities:
· Teach Grade R learners according to the CAPS curriculum/ATP’s
· Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
· Assess, observe and monitor learner progress
· Participate in staff development programs, i.e. workshops, training at CTLI and PLC’s
· Engage with parents and the community to promote learner well-being

· Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
· Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
· Commitment to the school’s Vision and Mission
