We are seeking a dedicated Food & Beverage Duty Manager to assist in the seamless management of daily operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience in all food and beverage outlets. This role reports directly to the Food & Beverage Manager. Position Overview:
As the F&B Duty Manager, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing the smooth and professional service across our dining venues, including restaurants, bars, room service, and the outdoor terrace. You will play a vital role in upholding our high service standards and ensuring guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of restaurants, bars, room service, and terrace spaces.
Provide a warm, welcoming experience by greeting and seating guests.
Ensure that all work areas are properly set up, maintained, and cleaned according to established procedures and 5-star standards.
Oversee food and beverage service for the restaurant and conference areas, ensuring timely and professional delivery.
Take orders, explain menu offerings, and provide food and beverage service whilst adhering to all hygienic practices.
Mix, serve, and manage beverage orders, ensuring the bar is clean and prepared for service.
Monitor food quality and consistency from the kitchen, ensuring it meets guest expectations.
Organise and adjust indoor and outdoor seating arrangements for the restaurant and function areas as needed to accommodate business demands and guest preferences.
Respond promptly and professionally to guest enquiries, resolving any issues in a friendly and efficient manner in line with departmental policies.
Ensure all departmental policies, procedures, and checklists are implemented and followed by staff, maintaining accountability.
Manage the POS system, process payments, and ensure all guest accounts are accurately handled.
Lead and motivate staff to ensure they are operating to their full potential, delivering consistent high-quality service.
Manage staffing levels effectively to meet operational needs.
Assist the Restaurant Manager with monthly stocktakes and inventory management.
Candidate Requirements:
Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
A Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality Management will be advantageous.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
Proficient in computer systems, with experience using POS systems.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
High attention to detail and a commitment to service excellence.
Energetic, with a high level of physical fitness to meet the demands of the role.
Customer service-driven, with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
Own reliable transport will be beneficial.
