Duties and Responsibilities

Dive deep into extensive mining data sets, applying statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to uncover actionable insights and improve operational efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data science challenges and develop innovative solutions.
Develop and implement predictive models and algorithms to optimize mineral processing and production processes.
Utilize your expertise in data visualization to create compelling reports and dashboards, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in data science and mineral processing technology, and contribute innovative ideas to enhance mineral processing practices.

Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Chemical / Metallurgical / Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Experience and Skills Requirements

Up to one year’s work experience will be advantageous.
Strong understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modeling techniques.
Experience in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL will be advantageous.
Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js will be advantageous.
Familiarity with mineral processing concepts, processes, and data sets.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in a mineral processing context.
Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex findings to diverse stakeholders.
Enthusiasm for continuous learning and a genuine passion for leveraging data science in the mineral processing industry.
English language proficiency.
Must be a South African Citizen.
