Duties & Responsibilities: Develop and create Data Architecture Blueprints and Models
Develop and maintain the data architecture blueprint: Define the standards, guidelines, and models for data architecture that ensure alignment with business goals and technical standards.
Create and maintain data models: Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models, ensuring the database structures support business requirements.
Design data integrated solutions and alignment of data strategies
Design and manage data integration solutions: Develop strategies for data integration across different systems and platforms, including on-premises and cloud environments.
Data strategy alignment: Align data architecture with enterprise strategy, supporting governance, security, and compliance needs.
Implementation of data governance frameworks
Ensure data governance standards: Establish and enforce standards for data management, security, and privacy to maintain data integrity.
Implement data quality processes: Develop policies and tools to monitor and improve data quality, reducing risks associated with poor data management.
Evaluation of new technologies
Evaluate new technologies: Assess emerging data technologies and tools, recommending the best fit for the organization's architecture.
Oversee data platform implementation: Supervise the deployment and optimization of data platforms, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and efficient.
Lead data projects
Lead data-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Lead data migration projects, ensuring smooth transitions between legacy systems and new data platforms.
Optimization of critical business systems performance
Optimize data systems for performance: Ensure that databases, data warehouses, and other data storage solutions are performing optimally.
Troubleshoot performance issues: Diagnose and resolve any issues that impact the performance or efficiency of data systems
Selection of technologies
Technology Selection: Identify and recommend the appropriate tools, technologies, and platforms for data management and analytics.
Formal Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
Industry certification such as:
DAMA
AWS/AZURE
Snowflake or DMBOK2 (advantage)
Experience:
Minimum 7 years’ experience in data architecture
Financial Services industry experience in data architecture (Life Insurance industry experience will be an advantage)
