Trading Operation Assistant
Job Summary
This role is in energy trading business and reporting to the Head of Trading and Operations. The successful candidate needs to send contracts to counter parties and ensuring confirmation or acknowledgement received from them. You will handle and manage shipping documents as well as manage all necessary documents for L/C application and bank negotiation. You will liaise shipping companies for BLs and vessel tracking and liaise with suppliers/buyers on cargo readiness & documentation to ensure smooth cargo operations. You need to do laytime calculation. You will have direct working exposure with the Head of Trading and Operations, and Operation Executive with strong developmental opportunities in the role. You will have close interaction with multiple stakeholders in the company.

Scope of work and responsibilities
- Deliver, execute, and document physical commodities delivery and contracts.
- Create and negotiate Contracts to counter parties and ensure contract terms cover our risks and exposures.
- To handle and manage shipping documents (including B/L, commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, certificate of weight and quality).
- To handle and manage all necessary documents for L/C application and bank negotiation.
- Negotiating and drafting of letter of credit.
- To liaise with suppliers/buyers on cargo readiness, documentation, and payment matters.
- To liaise with shipping agencies on shipping arrangements, vessel schedules and vessel tracking.
- To work with account department to monitor incoming funds and outgoing payment.
- To calculate laytime, profit, and loss statement.
- Ensure shipment schedules and any trading database timely and accurately.
- To work with traders and counter parties to transact and monitor all risks (including but not limited to credit / market / reputation/operational risks/ other internal division).
- All other tasks related to the trading matters.
- Hold a university bachelor’s degree from reputable university with good grade, major in engineering is highly encouraged to apply.
- 1 year of working experience in dry commodity industry handling dry bulk trading operations is an advantage. However fresh graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Meticulous and self-motivated with positive attitude.
- Multi-tasking, can work independently, able to handle work pressures and tight deadlines.
- Hardworking, detail oriented, fast learner, accountable and a team player.
