Portfolio Management Analyst/ Senior Analyst
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain close relationships with industry players to stay informed on market movements and contracting strategies.
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to forecast and explain Singapore’s energy price movements.
- Develop reliable processes for forecasting system demand and supply by incorporating public information and market intelligence.
- Increase team efficiency across throughput business group through active process improvement and automation projects.
- Create, maintain, and update automation tools and dashboards to track, analyse and report movements in LNG and Energy markets while reducing human error.
- Analyse and suggest IT infrastructural upgrades where required to achieve productivity gains.
- Formulate and communicate Gas Engine optimisation strategies to management and operations teams.
- Monitor and evaluate regulatory changes in the gas and power markets – including key milestones and targets set by the Authority (e.g. solar, power imports, etc.), and its impact to the company.
- Provide constructive feedback on proposed regulatory changes and consultation papers issued by EMC and/or EMA to support growth in the gas and power market.
- Lead discussions with cross-functional and cross-organisational teams to identify and unlock synergies and optimisation opportunities for terminal construction project.
- Co-ordinate with Operations team on planned generation outages to minimize impact to the company's overall profitability.
- Prepare GEG’s efficiency reports for government energy agency and self-reports for Market Surveillance and Compliance Panel.
- Support other processes and procedures and perform any other duties including reporting to internal and external stakeholders (e.g. regulator and customers, etc), and participate in any other projects as assigned by reporting manager or delegated authority.
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Above 3 years of related experience in established Energy/Electricity Supply/ LNG companies.
- Excellent data analysis and forecasting skills.
- Well-versed with LNG operations, supply chain management, and energy market dynamics.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore Gas Network Code, Singapore Electricity Market, and local system/ market operations & energy market rules.
- Strong prioritising, problem-solving skills, adaptable to a fast-paced, team-based and constantly evolving environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams and present technical information to non-technical internal/external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office, VBA, SQL, Power BI. Knowledge of Python and/or other mathematical modelling and simulation tools is an added advantage.
- Able to start work at short notice.
