[What you will be working on]
Job Responsibilities
Guide customers on library etiquette, and promote library collection and services
Provide physical and digital collection and service recommendations, engaging library patrons through programmes (like book displays, storytelling, tours, displays and roadshows)
Provide support in collection maintenance and development, e.g. collection analysis, promotion, screen new arrivals
Prepare for and facilitate programmes, exhibitions and outreach, including coordination with partners/volunteers, publicity and overseeing the set-up / teardown (e.g. story-telling, book clubs, community programmes).
Assist branch manager in community engagement e.g. coordinating content development for the Community Wall and refresh on quarterly basis.
Recruit and train volunteers, and work with them on various volunteer opportunities in the library/outreach
Handle customer queries, issues and feedback according to service standards and standard processes.

Requirements
Good customer service and engagement skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently
Comfortable with using technology to conduct programmes and design posters
Comfortable with facing the public of all ages (in the context of a programme)
Ability to adapt quickly to changes due to iterative nature of new services
Ability to carry out mobile frontline services e.g. attendance taking for programmes and guide library users on NLB mobile app etc.
Ability to provide logistics support for programmes
Willing to travel to other libraries to support programmes
Candidate will be required to perform shift work and work on weekends and occasionally on public holidays

You will be based at one of the public libraries.
Successful applicants will be appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance.
