You will join our Geotechnical team in Arcadis Iasi office, part of the Mobility Global Business Area, where our projects and development opportunities can fit various ambitions from 3D modeling and parametric design to Operate & Maintain digital methods. The delivery is secured through global collaboration platforms like BIM360, which allows engineers across various offices to work together seamlessly while maintaining clear visibility for our clients. In collaboration with other related disciplines, you will perform geotechnical analysis and calculations for projects across the world, while maintaining contact with the local colleagues in Romania and in other countries. Role accountabilities: Your role will include, but is not limited to:
Performing calculation, analysis and providing recommendations and conclusions;
Providing technical advice to project team members;
Reviewing and ensuring compliance in the components of the project for which you have responsibility, including drawings, reports, specifications and studies;
Building and maintaining effective relationships with partners on projects;
Liaising with the Line Manager to keep informed of progress associated with the project;
Maintaining a good understanding of the background of the Regional Arcadis business to facilitate building effective and enduring relationships and consolidating both company and personal credibility in the industry;
Providing direction to the project team, leading by example to achieve goals and championing a quality, innovative, client-focused culture
Qualifications & Experience: Mandatory:
Relevant engineering degree in Geotechnics;
Possess good knowledge on soil/rock mechanics. Proficiency in interpretation of field investigations and laboratory tests;
• Competent on using geotechnical computer software to create analytical models for foundation, retaining structures, settlement, and slope stability analysis • Competent in finite element analysis and related geotechnical software, such as Plaxis; 2 of 2
Good English language skills.
Nice to have:
Design & technical knowledge of special geotechnical works
Ability to check work from junior staff.
Knowledge of DELTARES / GEODIN / LEAPFROG / ARCGIS software
Able to collaborate with our Python specialists in developing routines for automating multiple processes in geotechnical software based on client requests and needs;
Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
