We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Engineer to build robust and scalable data solutions on the AWS platform. As a key member of our data team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses for an in-house AI/ML research platform. You'll collaborate closely with data scientists and stakeholders to ensure that our data is secure, reliable, and prepared for advanced analytics and insights.)

- Design and Build Data Solutions: Architect and implement scalable data solutions on AWS, leveraging appropriate services.
- Manage Data Pipelines: Develop and maintain ETL processes, ingesting, transforming, and loading data for analytics.
- Optimize Data Infrastructure: Ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing within the AWS ecosystem.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to address data needs and ensure quality and security.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance Proactively identify and resolve data-related issues.
What will you bring along
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in Data Engineering
- University Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
- Amazon Web Services Expertise: In-depth experience with AWS data services (Cloud Formation and/or Terraform, EMR, Glue, RDS, S3, EC2, Redshift).
- Programming Proficiency: Solid coding skills in Python, R, Spark QL, or Power Shell (Java acceptable).
- SQL Mastery: Expert in SQL for data querying and management.
- Data Modeling: Strong understanding of relational, dimensional, and No SQL data modeling (Snowflake experience a plus).
- Dev Ops & Automation: Experience in infrastructure automation through Dev Ops scripting.
- Version Control: Proficiency in Git tools (Git Hub, Bit Bucket, or Gitlab)
- CI/CD Practices: Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (Gitlab, Jenkins, etc.)
- Excellent English verbal and written skills
- German communication skills will be a plus
