The Accenture Controllership Tower, based out of 6 hubs globally, is a geographically diverse but closely aligned team of 40+ accounting professionals with responsibility for accounting for the consolidation and integration of all of Accenture’s requirement.
About the role:
Controllership in Accenture is a process under Finance and consists in managing, providing support or interacting with following sub-processes: Administer GAAP procedures to ensure financial statements meet accounting principles, SEC and Irish regulatory requirements. Prepare and interpret financial reports, including forecasts, budgets, income statements, balance sheets and cash flow documents. Manage liquidity, investing and hedging strategies to minimize fiscal risk.
About your responsibilities:
Finance Fundamentals
Responsible for process excellence and delivery of tax accounting, internal controls, and compliance processes for a Market or MU;
Ensure timely delivery, accurate reporting, and consolidation of financial results for Market or MU;
Ensure timely and accurate completion and tracking of income tax true ups; resolve complex cases, collaborating globally with Employment Tax and Mobility tax teams;
Receivables management for Tax Equalization Settlements; ageing analysis and collection risk analysis to mitigate unplanned expense charges to client contracts;
Ensure all tax accounting issues are properly analyzed, supported, and documented in the quarterly BSR, pre and post close reviews.
Analytics, Insights and Advisory
Prepare and analyze consolidated Market/MU results; conduct detailed analysis to minimize financial exposure and collaborate to maximize contract profitability for taxes charged to client engagements;
Reconcile key findings from complex sets of information to identify trends, potential issues, and improvement opportunities;
Support local tax controversy matters; preparation of ad hoc reporting and analysis to aid decisions, providing insights of financial impacts;
Collaborate with tax teams to investigate complex tax matters impacting financials, understand reason for variances and timely escalate material issues;
Develop a clear understanding of internal systems, international tax transactions and processes to aid balance sheet analysis and provide value added advice to Client Finance;
Establish self as Cross Border Finance Subject Matter Expert;
Respond to business queries from local/global Finance, Project Managers, Mobility, and Global Tax Group.
By being part of our team, you will work from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 AM to 18:00 PM in a 90% remote setup.
About the skills that make your work successful:
Expected to have minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in an similar role and deep knowledge in an area of expertise based on experience;
Proficiency in English language and SAP knowledge is mandatory;
Knowledge of Accounting standards and legislation (US GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley);
The ability to interpret and understand financial and business information and make the associated recommendations for action;
First class numerical and technical analysis skills;
Positive attitude and flexible;
Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritize;
Team worker with ability to coach and motivate team.
