Clinical ● Makes autonomous decisions related to the plans of care for children. ● Provides total individualized patient care as assigned according to the core standards of patient care and established policies and evidence-based practices. ● Holds a caseload and provides a speech and language therapy service to children with a range of communication, speech and language difficulties. ● Assumes delegated accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating therapy needs as well as discharge planning for each patient, assessing for current and potential problems. ● Administers standardized and age-appropriate speech and language tests and uses non-standardized assessment procedures when indicated. ● Interprets results and develops recommendations in collaboration with the interprofessional team, when necessary. Communication ● Is able to motivate and persuade patients through effective communication skills. ● Is able to communicate information when there are maybe barriers to communication and understanding. ● Liaises with members of the interdisciplinary teams with regard to patient care to ensure high quality, holistic, and safe family-centered care. ● Liaises with managers, administrative and support staff as necessary. ● Attends and contributes to meetings and case conferences as appropriate. Essential skills ● Flexibility in working in different settings (covering school and nurseries during screening stage) and later on referring selected clients to our clinic or work on home visits when it’s requested by parents or VIP clients. ● High work ethics and morale. ● Ability to see the bigger picture, plan ahead and act proactively. ● Agile and open to changes and unplanned circumstances. ● Excellent oral and written communication in English, and Arabic language. Requirements Education & Licenses ● Bachelor’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Therapy ● Have a valid QCHP License ● Completed Data Flow and provide a positive report Experience ● 4+ years of work experience in a clinical environment in a similar role is required inclusive of 2+ years of clinical experience in a pediatric role.
