We are seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Electrician to lead the electrical maintenance and repair of various vehicles, including electric, hybrid, and conventional fuel vehicles. The Senior Automotive Electrician will be responsible for diagnosing complex electrical issues, supervising junior staff, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. This role requires extensive hands-on experience, advanced diagnostic skills, and the ability to train and mentor junior technicians. Key Responsibilities:
Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs of electrical systems in vehicles, including engine management systems, hybrid and electric powertrains, lighting, and HVAC systems.
Oversee the installation and repair of electrical components, such as alternators, starters, batteries, GPS systems, alarms, and communication systems.
Lead and mentor a team of junior automotive electricians, providing technical guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Ensure all work is performed to industry standards, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with all regulations.
Interpret complex wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to guide repairs and modifications.
Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicle electrical systems to ensure reliable operation.
Use advanced diagnostic equipment and software to identify electrical issues in vehicles, including hybrid and electric systems.
Collaborate closely with mechanics, engineers, and other workshop staff to resolve multidisciplinary repair tasks.
Keep up to date with technological advancements in the automotive industry, particularly regarding electric and autonomous vehicles.
Manage inventory and ordering of electrical parts and components as needed.
Provide expert advice to customers on the maintenance and repair of their vehicle’s electrical systems.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Diploma or certification in Automotive Electrical Technology or related field.
Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of hands-on experience as an Automotive Electrician, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or supervisory role.
Deep knowledge of automotive electrical systems, including modern hybrid and electric vehicles.
Proficient in using a wide range of diagnostic tools and software.
Ability to read and interpret detailed wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and schematics.
Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience managing and training a team.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex and technically challenging issues.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with other departments and interact with customers.
Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Certifications: EV/Hybrid vehicle certification is a plus.
