QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER - QC MANAGER IN READY MIX CONCRETE
A Quality Control (QC) Manager in the ready-mix concrete industry ensures that all concrete produced meets both internal and external quality standards. This role involves overseeing production processes, testing materials, managing a team, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Key Responsibilities: 1. Quality Assurance & Testing: - Conduct and supervise tests on raw materials, such as aggregates and cement, as well as on finished concrete products. - Ensure that the ready-mix concrete adheres to industry standards, including ASTM, ACI, and project-specific requirements. - Oversee the calibration of testing equipment to maintain accuracy and compliance. 2. Production Monitoring: - Monitor and audit concrete production processes to ensure quality consistency. - Work with plant operators and production managers to implement quality standards during batching and mixing. - Develop and maintain quality control procedures and documentation for production processes. 3. Compliance & Regulations: - Ensure that all quality control activities comply with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations. - Stay updated on industry standards and implement necessary changes to the QC processes to stay compliant. 4. Team Management: - Lead and train quality control technicians, ensuring that the team is knowledgeable about testing procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards. - Schedule and oversee daily tasks of QC personnel to ensure consistent production monitoring. 5. Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution: - Investigate and troubleshoot quality issues in the production process, including problems with mix designs, raw materials, or external conditions. - Recommend corrective actions when issues arise to prevent recurrence and improve quality standards. 6. Reporting & Documentation: - Prepare detailed reports on quality control test results, discrepancies, and corrective actions. - Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory compliance, including material test results, batch tickets, and QC inspections. 7. Client and Stakeholder Interaction: - Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies regarding quality requirements and standards. - Conduct quality presentations and discussions with clients to ensure their specifications are met. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. - Experience: Minimum 10 years in ready-mix in GCC / Qatar. - Certifications: ACI (American Concrete Institute) certifications in concrete testing or similar credentials are highly desired. - Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with knowledge of quality control testing methods for concrete.
