Job Summary: The HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring that the organization's health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures are effectively implemented and maintained. The role involves monitoring and evaluating the work environment, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety and environmental awareness. Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulatory changes.
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate control measures.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and safety programs.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and management.
Ensure that all employees are trained on safety procedures and emergency protocols.
Maintain training records and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
Coordinate emergency drills and exercises to ensure preparedness.
Act as a point of contact for emergency response and coordinate with external agencies as needed.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance activities.
Prepare and submit reports on HSE performance and compliance to management.
Ensure proper documentation of safety procedures, training, and incidents.
Monitor safety performance and identify areas for improvement.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental practices.
Participate in safety committees and contribute to the development of safety initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering
NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent HSE certification is preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role or industry.
