CONTRACT
Building Interior and Exterior Design Engineer
Responsibilities:
Contract length: 12 months
- Interior Design:
- Develop design plans for interior spaces, including layout, materials, and finishes.
- Ensure that interior designs meet safety standards and comply with building codes.
- Collaborate with architects and interior designers to integrate structural and aesthetic elements.
- Select and specify materials, fixtures, and finishes that align with design goals and budget.
- Oversee the implementation of interior designs, ensuring quality and adherence to plans.
- Exterior Design:
- Design exterior elements of buildings, including facades, rooflines, and exterior finishes.
- Ensure that exterior designs are durable, weather-resistant, and comply with local regulations and aesthetic standards.
- Coordinate with structural engineers to ensure that exterior designs support the building’s structural integrity.
- Incorporate sustainable design practices and materials to enhance environmental performance.
- Manage the execution of exterior design elements, addressing any issues that arise during construction.
- General Duties:
- Conduct site assessments to understand design constraints and opportunities.
- Prepare detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and material lists.
- Use design software (e.g., Auto CAD, Revit) to create and modify design plans.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical) to ensure cohesive design integration.
- Monitor construction progress to ensure designs are executed as planned and address any design-related issues.
- Provide technical support and problem-solving throughout the design and construction phases.
- Design Skills: Strong ability to create and visualize both interior and exterior designs, with an understanding of aesthetics, functionality, and spatial relationships.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in design software (Auto CAD, Revit, Sketch Up), knowledge of building codes, and an understanding of structural and environmental considerations.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple design projects, coordinate with various stakeholders, and ensure timely and on-budget delivery.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with clients, architects, and construction teams.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to address design challenges and make adjustments as needed during the construction process.
Contract length: 12 months
