Job Title: Assistant Restaurant Manager (For a High-end Restaurant) Department: Operations Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager with a background in fine dining to join our team. As the Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will work closely with the Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations, uphold high service standards, and ensure exceptional guest experiences in our fine dining establishment. Key Responsibilities
Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations.
Ensure smooth and efficient service delivery by coordinating with front-of-house and kitchen staff, monitoring workflow, and addressing any issues or bottlenecks as they arise.
Oversee opening and closing procedures, including setup, breakdown, and reconciliation of cash registers and POS systems.
Supervise and provide guidance to front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders, to ensure adherence to service standards, policies, and procedures.
Assist in training new team members, and providing ongoing coaching and development opportunities.
Lead by example and foster a positive and supportive work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and professional growth.
Monitor and manage the guest experience from arrival to departure, ensuring that guests receive personalized attention, exceptional service, and a memorable dining experience.
Address guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a timely and professional manner, striving to resolve issues and exceed expectations whenever possible.
Proactively engage with guests to anticipate their needs, preferences, and special requests, and ensure that all requests are fulfilled with attention to detail and care.
Assist in monitoring and controlling restaurant expenses, including labor costs, inventory levels, and operating supplies, to maximize profitability and minimize waste.
Support the Restaurant Manager in developing and implementing strategies to drive revenue growth, increase average check size, and optimize table turn times.
Maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, and service consistency, conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with established standards.
Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure proper execution of menu items, adherence to recipes, and timely delivery of orders to guests.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role in a fine dining restaurant.
Strong knowledge of fine dining service standards, etiquette, and procedures.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and handle difficult situations with professionalism and tact.
Proficiency in POS systems, Microsoft Office suite, and other relevant software applications.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
