ROLE SUMMARY:

To join our team, in August 2025, we are looking for a well-qualified and talented teacher of Business and Economics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver high-quality instruction aligned with GCSE, A-Level, or IBDP Economics and Business curricula, ensuring students grasp key concepts and frameworks.

Foster a stimulating learning environment by encouraging critical thinking, real-world applications, and student engagement in business and economics discussions.

Plan and deliver differentiated lessons, addressing individual learning needs and ensuring all students are challenged appropriately.

Monitor and assess student progress using formative and summative assessments to support academic growth and meet learning targets.

Incorporate modern technology into lessons to enhance teaching and learning, utilizing tools and platforms that make economic and business concepts more accessible.

Promote student well-being, creating a supportive classroom environment where students feel confident to ask questions and explore ideas.

Encourage participation in extracurricular activities, such as business competitions, trips, and student-led projects, to enhance practical learning experiences.

Collaborate with colleagues to support the development and implementation of cross-curricular activities and school-wide initiatives.

Engage with parents and stakeholders, providing regular updates on student progress and maintaining clear communication.

Commit to continuous professional development, staying informed on current trends in education and economics to continually enhance the learning experience.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A relevant degree in Economics, Business, or a related field, with a valid teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching Economics and Business at the secondary level, with knowledge of GCSE, A-Level, or IBDP curricula.
- Strong ability to inspire and engage students, fostering a passion for economics, business, and critical thinking.
- Experience in using formative and summative assessments to track student progress and meet challenging academic targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building trust with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, ensuring inclusivity in the classroom.
- Proficiency in integrating technology and modern teaching methods to enhance student learning.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with advancements in business and economics education.
- A collaborative approach to teaching, contributing to team initiatives and school development plans.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare in the academic and pastoral settings.
