Academic Internship in GenAI - Workforce Scheduling

Objective

The objective of this internship is to build An AI-based scheduling system can use concrete criteria (hard and soft) to make intelligent assignments. During this internship you will

Collaborate with the operations research and development teams to design and implement an AI-based scheduling system.
Analyze current workforce planning challenges and identify key criteria for optimization, including hard criteria (e.g., qualifications, availability) and soft criteria (e.g., preferences, past performance).
Utilize Google’s OR-Tools and other AI-powered scheduling tools to develop algorithms that automate and enhance workforce scheduling.
Integrate legal and contractual constraints into the scheduling system to ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Test and validate the AI-based scheduling system through simulations and real-world scenarios.
Collect and analyze feedback to refine and improve the system's performance and adaptability.
Document the development process and provide detailed reports on project progress and outcomes.

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
Familiarity with AI technologies, machine learning algorithms, and operational research techniques.
Experience with Google’s OR-Tools or similar optimization tools is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
