A Day in Your Life at MKS :
As a Purchasing Specialist for SAP ARIBA in Europe, you'll be at the heart of streamlining and enhancing our purchasing processes. You'll support our European sites by guiding Purchase Requests, collaborating with Category Managers, and managing purchase orders. You will leverage SAP ARIBA to optimize and track complex orders and ensure compliance with our purchasing policies. Reporting to the Head of the ARIBA Competence Center, you will be part of a dynamic team of six professionals, working cross-functionally to enhance purchasing efficiency and vendor management.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Support Onsite Operations: Collaborate with European sites to streamline Purchase Requests and guide them to the appropriate vendors using SAP ARIBA Guided Buying.
- Collaboration with Category Managers: Partner with indirect materials and services category managers to identify and select vendors and drive vendor consolidation efforts.
- Utilization of Global Aggregator Vendors: Ensure the use of global aggregator vendors to simplify purchasing processes and minimize reliance on local vendors.
- Purchase Order Management: Create, manage, and track complex purchase orders in SAP ARIBA for indirect materials and services. Oversee shipping schedules and maintain accurate purchase records.
- Product Spec Definition: Work with local operations to document requirements for larger purchases, ensure proper sourcing, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Market Analysis: Conduct ongoing market research for localization and sustainability, and identify new purchasing opportunities.
- SAP ARIBA Expertise: Utilize SAP ARIBA’s capabilities to enhance purchasing processes and manage purchase requisitions efficiently.
Skills you bring:
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Assistant Buyer, or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in SAP ARIBA Guided Buying and experience managing complex purchase orders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and precision in maintaining records.
- Strong analytical skills for assessing purchasing needs and forecasting inventory.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments, including purchasing managers and warehouse staff.
- German language skills are a plus but not required.
Preferred skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
Working Conditions:
- Working from home is possible for up to 8 days per month.
