We have an exciting opportunity for a Geospatial Consultant to support major renewable projects, including offshore and onshore wind, in Poland, Europe, and worldwide. What you will be doing.
As our Geospatial Consultant, you will support the delivery of major renewable projects, including offshore and onshore wind, across Poland, Europe, and globally. Your expertise in GIS, geodetics, projections, and cartography will be crucial in driving these projects forward. In addition, you will:
- Geospatial data collation and management.
- Spatial analysis and modelling across a wide range of projects.
- Development of detailed geospatial figures and visualization outputs.
- Developing and implementing new desktop workflows and tools.
- Supporting and working with other geospatial (GIS) users within the company.
- Contributing to technical reports and presentations.
- Contributing to geospatial technical innovation and development.
This position can be based at the OWC offices in Warszawa or Gdansk, and the candidate should have the right to live and work in Poland. The job holder could also work remotely from elsewhere in Poland.
What we are looking for.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in GIS, geography, or environmental science, with strong technical expertise in GIS, including geodetics and projections. A detail-oriented, team player who thrives in fast-paced environments and maintains a professional approach is highly desired. In addition, you will have:
Degree in GIS, geography, or environmental science.
- Strong GIS technical knowledge, including geodetics, projections, and cartography.
- Experience with QGIS and ESRI Arc GIS; detail-oriented map production.
- Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Flexible, team-oriented, and professional in fast-paced environments.
- Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, Access, Word, Power Point).
- Excellent interpersonal skills, sociable, practical, and resilient.
- Keen eye for detail, numerical precision, and strong organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with proficiency in English and Polish communication.
Desirable:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Geospatial (GIS) role; offshore wind experience is a plus.
- Working towards Chartership with a professional body.
- MSc or Ph D in GIS.
- Experience in GIS within engineering/renewables or consultancy roles.
- Knowledge of GIS, database, and web-based coding (Python, SQL, Java Script, HTML, FME).
- Familiarity with remote sensing and image processing.
- Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
