Tasks and Qualifications:
As a member of the site procurement team you will be in charge:
For purchasing parts in the related commodities
You will take over lead for the site purchasing group for your commodities in the Kolbaskowo plant
You will drive Quality, Delivery performance, Cost targets at supplier level
You will report disciplinary & functionally to the local site Head of procurement.
Your key responsibilities:
Steer the supply base to achieve our objectives on quality, cost, delivery and innovation, considering best practice methods as well as KIONs Commodity Strategy and the plant of Kolbaskowo.
In close cooperation with Advanced Sourcing, assure that for nominations of new projects target cost and timing will be met. Conduct RFQs, do quote comparisons and present the results in the Sourcing Committee.
Secure the outcome of the sourcing in a contractual package / framework agreement. Act as interface between supplier and Engineering in case of technical questions / discussions needed.
Lead negotiations for a certain European supplier portfolio. Maintain and develop relationships with the strategic suppliers. Includes contractual management (NDA’s, Long Term- / Supply Contracts etc.).
Support in achieving the cost reduction targets within the Commodity Buyers scope with a high focus on product cost reductions in the related materials groups. Manage influences to cost and performance, as well as achievements on the Procurement’s KPIs, in line with department and site/product requirements and rules.
Manage crisis situations. Support and respond to unforeseen supply failures, working with supplier and site to deliver solutions to avoid line stops.
Support in regional and global Procurement initiatives
Close contact to local site stakeholders in departments to guarantee best support for on time delivery, supply chain capacity and operative procurement support.
Your background:
Bachelor’s Degree in business or Engineering and
Experience of 3+ years’ as Commodity Buyer in Material Handling, Construction, Agriculture, Automotive Tier 1 or similarly demanding environment
Able to read and understand technical drawings and -specifications
Proficient in using Microsoft Office
Good SAP/R3 ERP knowledge is a requirement
Very good understanding of manufacturing processes and industry quality standards for forging and casting
Good understanding of a product cost breakdown and first experience in methods for cost reduction, based on product cost analysis and cost engineering.
Ability to develop and understand legal contracts
Capable of leading negotiations for strategic supply contracts
Strong negotiation skills
Strategic thinking in the day to day decision making
Results driven, with the ability to drive projects self-reliant and successfully
Good problem solving, communication and presentation skills are essential

Flexibility to travel within Europe, also at short notice
Very good English mandatory, a second language (German, French, Italian, Eastern Europe) will be of advantage.
