Role description: As a Database Migration Engineer, you will work with our customers to define and implement our data migration approach for membership solution projects. Your primary focus will be on delivering transformed customer data to their new membership system efficiently and on time. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of the Silverbear implementation project, from requirement gathering and data integration to go-live and beyond. Our Database Migration Engineers are enthusiastic, creative, flexible, and motivated team players who can interpret business requirements into technical solutions. You will have experience migrating significant data sets from multiple source systems to a single reference system and understand business data, its locations, and migration methods, whether on SQL Server, Oracle databases, or smaller databases/spreadsheets. Key Responsibilities:
Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients and project teams throughout the project lifecycle to define and deliver successful data migrations. Identify, breakdown, and communicate potential issues to all parties involved.
High-Level Analysis: Conduct high-level analysis of clients’ existing data and business processes during the discovery phase to define project scope and migration plans, ensuring seamless business continuity.
Technical Analysis: Perform technical analysis of client data to understand complexities, requirements, and desired outcomes.
Data Manipulation and Mapping: Map and manipulate source data to our membership product as part of the ETL process using complex SQL, SSIS, and C#. Custom development is a significant part of this role.
Process Improvement: Continuously reflect on and improve processes at both individual project and team levels.
Guidance and Support: Provide guidance and support to business stakeholders and technical teams on data migration best practices and processes.
Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of data migration processes and procedures.
Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve data migration issues.
