Enterprise Scrum master

A Global Healthcare Company has an immediate requirement for an Enterprise Scrum Master.
The role of an Enterprise Scrum Master is pivotal in spearheading Agile transformation and the adoption of Agile methodologies within a Pillar and Tribe framework. It involves overseeing the implementation of Agile and Scrum practices across multiple teams, collaborating with leadership and Tribe Leads to align these practices with long-term digital and tech goals.
The Enterprise Scrum master identifies and helps remove impediments hindering the progress of Pillars and Tribes, fosters collaboration between tech squads and business stakeholders, and encourages a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. They also support the development of metrics and dashboards to measure the impact of initiatives, communicate progress and challenges, nurture leadership capabilities within Agile teams, and are accountable for driving metrics related to velocity and predictability within their Pillar while being responsible to the Leadership Team and Tribe Leads.
Responsibilities:
  • Agile Transformation Leadership & Influencing
An Enterprise Scrum Master drives Agile transformation within Digital & tech. It involves championing Agile values, principles, and practices and ensuring that teams at the Pillar and Tribe levels adopt and follow Agile and Scrum methodologies effectively. It includes partnering and influencing HET-2 and their teams on the Agile Transformation journey. It also consists of a challenging and driving change in senior leaders across Digital & Tech and their peer groups as they prioritize resourcing and transformation in the Digital Flagships to move from traditional operations to an Agile way of working.
  • Facilitation and Collaboration
They facilitate and oversee the implementation of Agile and Scrum practices across multiple teams within their assigned Pillar and Tribe. Collaboration with Leadership Team members, Tribe Leads, and other stakeholders is crucial to align Agile practices with the organisation’s long-term digital and tech goals.
  • Value Optimization
An Enterprise Scrum Master fosters collaboration and alignment between Digital and tech squads and business stakeholders to optimize value delivery. They help ensure that the work aligns with business objectives and that targeted results are tangible benefits.
  • Impediment Resolution
It is crucial to identify and help remove thematic impediments that hinder the progress of the Pillar and Tribes. It involves problem-solving and working closely with stakeholders to address challenges promptly, ensuring a smoother Agile adoption process.
  • Continuous Improvement
They play a pivotal role in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Encouraging teams to experiment and adapt Agile practices to evolving needs fosters a dynamic and responsive environment.
  • Metrics and Communication
Supporting Tribes and Pillars in developing automated metrics and dashboards to measure the impact of initiatives on Digital & Tech outcomes is crucial. Additionally, they are responsible for effectively communicating Agile transformation’s progress, benefits, and challenges to Leadership Team members and Tribe Leads. They ensure transparency and buy-in at all levels—relationships with internal Market and Global stakeholders and 3rd Party Suppliers.
Essential Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following essential skills and experience.
  • Scrum Framework Expertise: Mastery of Scrum practices, principles, and roles.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with other agile frameworks like Kanban, Lean, and XP.
  • Meeting Facilitation: Proficient in leading effective Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
  • Conflict Resolution: Skilled in navigating and resolving conflicts within teams and across the organization.
  • Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage and communicate with various stakeholders, including executives and external partners.
  • Empowerment: Focusing on serving the team and removing impediments to their progress.
  • Supportive Leadership: Encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and self-organization.
  • Agile Transformation: Experience in large-scale agile transformations. Understanding of the standardized Agile approach (“Amplify”)
  • Vision Alignment: Ensuring team efforts align with organizational goals and strategies.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and requirements.
  • Resistance Management: Identifying and addressing resistance to change within the organization.
  • Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with agile project management tools like Jira, Trello, or Rally.
  • Metrics and KPIs: Ability to use agile metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills to address complex issues that arise during project execution.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks to ensure effective scrum execution.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Agile Community Engagement: Staying updated with the latest trends and practices in the agile community.
  • Feedback Integration: Incorporating feedback from retrospectives and other sources to drive continuous improvement.
  • Team Coaching: Ability to coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and teams to improve their agile practices.
  • Leadership Development: Mentoring leaders and managers to adopt agile leadership
Written and verbal communication is essential for this role. Being fluent in English and Mandarin is mandatory.
