We are seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join our Panama office. You'll be part of a close-knit team, responsible for various financial tasks including banking, invoicing, debt collection, bookkeeping, GST compliance, and the accurate preparation of financial statements in line with IFRS.
Responsibilities
Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Prepare quarterly management accounts to inform decision-making.
Provide ad hoc financial information to support ongoing operations.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes to maintain financial accuracy.
Keep track of customer and supplier age analysis.
Prepare year-end audit files and tax returns.
Develop budgets and cash flow forecasts for effective financial planning.
Process all purchase invoices and oversee payments and receipts.
Qualifications
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or any other relevant field.
Final stages of ACA or ACCA qualification considered a plus.
Min. 2 years of experience in finance and accounting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Finance IT systems (e.g., Info Sun Systems), Microsoft Excel, and Word.
Solid technical accounting knowledge and a deep understanding of finance processes.
Superior written and verbal communication skills - full English business proficiency is required, Portuguese proficiency is considered a plus.
Direct experience in preparing Financial Statements and GST returns.
Collaborative mindset, working effectively as part of a team and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
