Sanofi Vaccines is the Global Business Unit (GBU) of Sanofi responsible for vaccines and prophylactic treatments for infectious diseases.
As a member of the North Europe Medical Team and contributor to the Key Markets MEG Community, the MEGL builds on training and experience in health sciences and epidemiology research, infectious diseases, public health, and regulations to ensure that relevant medical evidence is available and strategically used to support the development, launch and commercialization of m Ab/vaccines throughout the entire lifecycle, with an initial focus on Belgium and Luxemburg.
Main responsibilities
1. Generation of medical evidence that is supportive of, and aligned with business priorities for our vaccines in Belgium & Luxemburg
Lead the development & endorsement of the North European MEG strategy and operational plan, with a focus on preparing launches, supporting market access and expansion, demonstrating the continued value of our licensed vaccines, in alignment with Belgian & Luxemburg Medical Plans and Global MEG Strategies
Working closely with Country Medical Leads for Vaccines in Belgium
Collaborating with the Global Medical Franchise MEG teams to ensure alignment with the Global Brand strategy
Focusing on identification of key gaps in evidence required to support development and business strategies
Offering support to the development of Global Medical Franchise MEG strategies
Integrating the insights obtained from engagement with external partners, investigators as well as funding organizations in strategy and operational plan development
Maximizing the value of medical evidence by ensuring that the operational plan combines scientific excellence with novel evidence generation approaches as well as external insights and contributions
Obtaining support and budget for the operational plan from local medical management and Global stakeholders.
2. Driving the timely execution of the MEG operational plan.
The MEGL leverages internal expertise and external partnerships to promote agile and efficient implementation of the activities and studies.
The MEGL oversees the MEG budget
The MEGL is accountable for efficient and timely execution of the operation plan
Collaborating with Internal Medical Operations to ensure appropriate governance, compliance, and resourcing (internal and external)
Ensuring study methodology meets highest quality standard for internal and external recognition. This entails both internal reviews and external stakeholders and experts engagement
Monitoring study conduct in close collaboration and mitigating issues arising in execution and analysis
Coordinating the interpretation and critical evaluation of study results, and participating in study results dissemination
3. Supporting the generation of medical evidence in other North European countries
The MEGL will also support gradually over time the execution of other North European operational plans in alignment with the Global Medical Franchise MEG teams.
4. Participating in external scientific engagement
The MEGL maintains a network of external experts, including among academic and public health institutions
for advice, guidance and resource for evidence generation strategy and execution
for insights in public health/scientific trends and needs
The MEGL supports and attends as needed stakeholder meetings with NRAs and recommending bodies to support business and public affairs strategy with scientific & medical evidence
The MEGL supports and participates in communication of scientific and medical evidence (eg.: congresses, internal & external training)
About you
MD, Pharm D, or Ph D with experience in Epidemiology/Health Economics/Public Health or related fields
Previous experience in vaccines or infectious diseases is an asset
At least 3-5 years of experience in the field of clinical/epidemiology/public health
Demonstrated experience in strategic evidence generation
Demonstrated network collaboration experience
Fluent in English and at least one of the Belgian languages (Dutch, French)
Strategic thinking
Strong business acumen and market access understanding
Scientific excellence
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Ability to cooperate cross-functionally
Strong motivation for public health
