Tutor (Kaiako)

Certificate in Small Business – Part-Time Fixed Contract (26 weeks)

Are you passionate about small business development and want to support new or existing business owners in your community or region? Have you started and run your own business, and want to pass your knowledge and experience on to future entrepreneurs?
Te Wananga o Aotearoa is committed to tauira success and whānau transformation through education, and we are proud to offer the Certificate in Small Business in an online delivery format in 2025 to student base that is predominately in or near Dunedin. We are looking for a motivated and passionate tutor wanting to support individuals in realising their business dreams.
Alongside delivering core programme curriculum, you will assist tauira (students) to develop a detailed business plan which will include profit and cashflow forecasts. Tauira will learn key business skills in the areas of marketing, operations, and financial management that will contribute to the growth and development of a business or enterprise.
The ideal applicant will have relevant tertiary and adult teaching qualifications as well as practical business experience. An understanding of some Te Reo Māori and tikanga would be helpful, but more important is the ability to relate to all cultures within the class. The applicant will also need to be confident with delivering classes online.
If this position is for you, in your cover letter tell us why you believe this programme is needed in your community, and why you are the right person to help our students put their learning into action.
The ideal applicant will be local to the Dunedin area with extensive networks that will support tauira on their business journey. Applicants must be available to attend an interview in the first week of November in Dunedin.
To apply for this position please register and apply on our jobs site: https://twoa.careercentre.net.nz/. Or for further information, contact Maatje at Aotahi – 021 991 376 or maatje@aotahi.com.
