Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are looking for registered nurses with operating theatre experience who are enthusiastic and keen to work in a busy and dynamic environment. We have a number of fixed-term opportunities to cover parental leave, with a range of dates and FTE (from 0.8/64hrs per fortnight to 1.0/80hrs per fortnight).
You will have the chance to work in a variety of theatres and engage in interesting and challenging cases. Our fast-paced environment is perfect for those looking to make a real impact while developing their skills further. Previous theatres experience is essential, and we are particularly interested in Registered Nurses who have experience in Orthopaedic Theatres

The Theatres and Anaesthesia department at Waikato Hospital is comprised of 22 Operating Theatres, a Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit and Day of Surgery Admission Unit. A wide range of surgical specialties include General Surgery, Vascular, Cardiac, Urology, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Paediatrics, Delivery Suite, Gynaecology, Maxillofacial and more.

Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:

A minimum of 3 years’ previous nursing experience in any speciality
- Current APC & eligibility to work in New Zealand
- Enthusiasm and commitment in a changing environment
- Strong patient focus
- Well-developed team and communication skills
