Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications: A relevant tertiary qualification at bachelor’s degree level or above is
preferred but not essential
Conversational Te Reo Māori and demonstrable experience in Tikanga
Māori.
Experience: • Prior experience in advice and/or leading Tikanga Māori delivery
within a tertiary setting or other educational settings;
- Proven ability to uphold the integrity of Tikanga Māori across a range
of situations and settings;
- Ability to organise and lead Tikanga Māori arrangements across a
range of settings including hui, campus events and ceremonies;
- Prior experience in advising and/or leading Tikanga Māori delivery
within a tertiary setting or health settings, with a focus on increasing
knowledge and understanding;
- Demonstrates a capacity for providing advice, and a proven record of
accomplishment of developing strong and effective relationships in
the achievement of strategic outcomes;
- Experience of working in a customer-focused role, often working
under pressure and to tight deadlines;
- The ability to present to, and to communicate with a range of
audiences;
- Proven experience working as part of a highly motivated team and
gaining the respect of peers and stakeholders;
- Experience in strategic planning and implementation, operational
execution and reporting;
- Proven ability to establish and develop effective relationships with
external groups and internal stakeholders would be an advantage;
- In depth understanding of the University regulatory, academic,
financial and strategic context.
