Mō te tūnga | About the role
Are you ready to lead and shape Employment Relations strategies in a dynamic environment? We're looking for an Employment Relations Manager who can drive innovation, support the continued capability development across our people leaders, and ensure compliance with legislation while fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
Initially a larger part of the role will be developing an Employment Relations model that's fit for purpose with a focus on early intervention, continuous improvement and can deliver on our commitments to Oranga Tamariki.
Additionally in the more day to day operations you will enable and grow the Employment Relations team to provide strategic oversight on employment matters and contractual interpretation. Deliver high-quality advice and support on complex employment issues, ensuring timely resolutions and empowering leaders with the tools and knowledge they need.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
We are looking for a pragmatic leader who has unmatched people management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor and inspire a team of ER professionals. Your expertise will ensure the team thrives and through your support uplift the team's capability. You will be a tech savvy problem solver that possess key decision-making skills and acts as the teams seasoned expert case leader.
Some other key requirements of the role include but are not limited to:
Extensive experience in Employment Relations within complex operational settings, ideally in the Public Sector.
Strong understanding of employment law
Exceptional communication and leadership experience, with a knack for simplifying complex information.
A proactive, agile thinker who can manage multiple priorities and stakeholder demands.
Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture

Annual remuneration for this position starts between $174,846 and $193,569 dependant on experience.
